New Microscope for molecular imaging

Researchers of the Huber-Lab from the Institute of Biomedical Optics (BMO) of the University of Lübeck and from the University of Munich developed a new approach to stimulated Raman imaging.

Researchers of the Huber-Lab from the Institute of Biomedical Optics (BMO) of the University of Lübeck and from the University of Munich succeeded in developing a new system for stimulated Raman microscopy. Sebastian Karpf et al. describe in an article in Nature Communications how hyperspectral Raman images are acquired with a fiber based rapidly wavelength swept laser. The so called TICO-Raman concept (time-encoded) allows to flexibly adjust the system for the desired application. On the one hand, it is possible to optimize it for fast Raman imaging and on the other hand it can be used to acquire broadband high resolution Raman spectra.
