"Second Harmonic and Linear Scattering from Metallic and Inorganic Nanoparticles"

Lecture of Dr. Amos Schtalheim, ETH Zürich

Date: 05.06.2014

Time: at 3( c.t. ) p.m.

Place: AM S1

The talk will be divided into three parts:

Part one:  Basic reminder of SHG theory, Key features of SHG imaging with
emphasis on Bio-Applications, A benefits vs. challenges comparison to other major contrast mechanisms.

Part two: Detailed description of my PhD work and Postdoc. I will describe the experimental approach, explain the optical setup and
data analysis and show some of the major results we obtained in this study.

Part three: A survey about SHG imaging with emphasis on Bio applications and
mention a few points concerning illumination properties, signal strength, and detection strategies.
